Black iron adapters, also referred to as black pipe fittings, are designed to connect low-pressure and medium-pressure black iron piping systems.
Black iron adapters are designed for use in low-pressure applications and are not very resistant to corrosive substances. For this reason, they are usually used in the return side (low-pressure end) of a hydraulic system.
